Realigning the BDD?

Well Hunter316, Council barely has 100 kids. The only thing close to a field they have is they can kind of convert their baseball field into a football field, but if you have ever seen Council's baseball field, its a joke anyway. No one at Council wants to play football all they care about is basketball, why do you think they have practice.. opps! uh.. I mean "open gym" the entire year?

No, Buchanan county is the only school system in SWVA that doesn't maintain websites for its schools. They have like one page on the whole site click here if you wanna see it.

livinglegend, what can you tell me about Buchanan county consolidating into one school? I'm sure its not too far off is it?

I don't think Buchanan County will ever consolidate into one school mainly because of Travel reasons. Hurley and Grundy would probably be the only two schools to consolidate within the near future and if that happens a lot of kids from Hurley would probably head to West Virginia because it would be closer than going to Grundy. I don't know what will be done about Council they are in no man's land there. It would actually be closer to send the kids from Council to Haysi or Honaker rather a central school towards Grundy.

Yeah, that was probably really the main reason why they didn't close Council. Like 45 kids would go to Honaker; 45 to Haysi and only the other 20 or so would wanna go to Twin Valley or Grundy.

Remember it isn't too far away were the Dickenson Co schools consolidate. Does anyone know when this is supposed to happen? I heard rumors at the start of the 05 year.

If I had to realign the BDD I would put Pound and Burton in... Haysi has played some thrillers with both over the years... we have played Burton in two overtime games over recent years, and I can remember the year that Pound went to the D-2 state title game... Haysi was down like 28-7 in the 3rd and came back and won 35 - 31 in overtime... If only we were a D-2 school...
